EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF EPOXY HYBRID POLYMER COMPOSITE REINFORCED WITH ZrB2 AND PTFE PARTICLES USING A PIN-ON-DISC TRIBOMETER

Thermal and mechanical performance evaluations of sliding systems are required to avoid the failure surfaces due high temperature a stress focus on small contact area. This work investigates thermal tribological an epoxy composite reinforced with zirconium diboride (ZrB2) polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) particles. Three-dimensional finite-element models used study heat generated (heat flux), field, stresses, deformation pin-on-disc system during sliding. These (FE) results help effect coefficient friction, load, speed distribution, which in turn affect wear. The for hybrid is decreased by 38.9 % addition fillers. When load incremented 10 N, increase 25 92 %, respectively. Accurate calculations generation distribution considered key predicting system’s performance, wear characteristics, stability contacting surfaces.
